NADDC DG engage key Stakeholders in South Africa to Advance Automotive Industry Growth in Nigeria

NADDC DIRECTOR GENERAL ENGAGES SOUTH AFRICAN AUTO KEY PLAYERS TO ADVANCE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY GROWTH IN NIGERIA.

In a strategic move to propel Nigeria’s automotive sector to new heights, the Director General of NADDC, Mr. Joseph Osanipin initiated crucial discussions with key industry players in South Africa on January 23, 2024.

Osanipin, embarked on a mission to accelerate the growth of the automotive industry. This endeavor, included pivotal meetings with esteemed companies and individuals: BOSCH, ADIENT, the Association of Africa Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM), and influential pioneers of the auto industry.
Notable figures in attendance were Mr. Alex Erwin, former Minister of Trade and Investment in South Africa, and Mr. Justin Payne, one of the pioneers of EVs in South Africa who provided insights on the Adoption of Electric Vehicles. Other attendees included the Director General’s Team, Mr. Dave Corey, CEO AAAM, Victoria Backhaus-Jerking Head of Project Office South Africa VDA-AAAM and Mr. Subair.

The agenda covered a spectrum of industry facets, with one meeting featuring Credit Scheme Expert Mr. Dando, who shared expertise on strategies to attract and stimulate auto credit schemes within Nigeria.

These collaborative sessions were aimed at captivating investments and catalyzing sustained growth within the automotive industry.
By aligning visions and resources, all parties seek to further harness the abundant investment opportunities present in Nigeria’s burgeoning automotive landscape.

This proactive approach by NADDC signals a commitment to fostering a robust and innovative automotive industry, positioning Nigeria as a key player in the global automotive arena. As these collaborative efforts unfold, the automotive sector anticipates substantial advancements and increased investment inflows.
