Today, The Governor  of Lagos State Babajide  Sanwo-Olu  met President Muhammed Buhari to present the demands of the Lagos #EndSARS protesters. His Excellency, President Mohammadu   Buhari restated his commitment to embark on a holistic reform of the entire Police Force. Just today, the President has approved a panel made up of Civil Society leaders to look at all the cases of abuse by the police.       In Delta State today during a Special broadcast, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa imposed a 48-hour curfew in Delta Stat. The curfew begins at 6pm — and is as a response to Wednesday night's arson and destruction of Government property in Asaba by some youth disguised as protesters. Governor Okowa also announced the closure of public, private, primary and secondary schools in the state until November 2, 2020.   Governor Okowa commended the #ENDSARS protesters for their peaceful conduct, but appealed to them to give peace a chance by allowing the government to address their demands. PRESIDENT BUHARI ADDRESSES THE NATION   Following detailed briefing by Security Chiefs on the current situation in the Country, President Muhammadu Buhari will make a National broadcast  today Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 7pm. According to the Femi Adesina Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.  

Dear Lagosians, I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS protest has degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society. Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella of these protests to unleash mayhem on our State. As a government that is alive to its responsibility and has shown a commitment to the movement #ENDSARS, we will not watch and allow anarchy in our dear state. I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4pm today, 20th October,2020.Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets.
