Chairman of CIG, Chief Diana Chen, has challenged members of the company’s Management Trainee Cohort 4 to focus on leadership, integrity and value creation as they begin their careers.

In a direct session with the trainees, Chief Chen said the goal should not be limited to getting a job, but to building businesses that contribute to Nigeria’s growth. She listed six key principles for success: doing the right thing, upholding character and integrity, understanding customers and business fundamentals, leveraging mentorship, delivering performance, and thinking like an owner.“Your starting position does not determine your ceiling.

Performance does,” she told the cohort. The engagement is part of CIG’s broader plan to develop future leaders across its business units CIG Motors, LagRide, GREE, and Lontor.

According to the company, the Management Trainee Programme is designed to expose young professionals to different aspects of the business while instilling the group’s core values.Officials said Cohort 4 will now begin rotations and projects across the various companies as part of their development journey.

The session ended with a call for the trainees to take mentorship seriously and to see themselves as future drivers of innovation within CIG and the Nigerian economy.
