Federal Minister and AfDB President Ready to Visit SAGLEV EV Assembly Plant in Nigeria

The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment has announced a significant visit to SAGLEV Electromobility Company Limited’s Electric Vehicle Assembly and Manufacturing facility in Lagos.

Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, will On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, tour the state-of-the-art EV assembly plant, highlighting the Federal Government’s commitment to green industrialization and local manufacturing in Nigeria’s Automotive Sector .

The following day, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), will also visit the facility, underscoring the bank’s support for regional sustainable industrial development and climate-resilient transportation infrastructure.

SAGLEV Electromobility Company Limited is Nigeria’s pioneering indigenous EV assembler and manufacturer, producing 16 electric vehicle models, including ride-hailing cars, sedans, delivery EVs, BRT buses, and utility trucks.

The company is driving Africa’s e-mobility transformation, contributing to job creation, local content development, technology transfer, and import substitution.The Visits by Dr. Jumoke Oduwole and Dr. Akinwumi Adesina validate SAGLEV’s commitment to Nigeria’s industrial future and Africa’s clean transportation revolution. SAGLEV’s CEO, Dr. Sam Faleye, expressed enthusiasm about the visits, stating that they would witness firsthand the progress being made in the company’s EV assembly plant.

This development aligns with the Federal Government’s efforts to promote industrialization, innovation, and sustainable development, as outlined by the Minister of State for Industry, Sen. John Owan Enoh, and the ministry’s strategic objectives.
