FRSC Corps Marshal Champions Volunteer Synergy for Safer Roads in Nigeria

In a significant step towards boosting volunteer engagement and promoting road safety in Nigeria, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed mni, led the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Special Marshals at the FRSC National Headquarters on August 6, 2025. The meeting, attended by the National Coordinator, Head Celebrity Special Marshals and Top Executives of the Special Marshals in Nigeria, underscores the Corps’ commitment to fostering structured volunteerism and enhancing collaboration for Safer Roads Nationwide.

During the meeting, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed emphasized the need for Special Marshals to intensify advocacy and awareness campaigns on the use of zebra crossings, highlighting that many road users are utilizing these crossings and thus require more awareness initiatives. The Corps Marshal’s call reflects the organization’s focus on promoting safe road practices and minimizing risks for all road users.

The high-level meeting demonstrates the FRSC’s dedication to leveraging volunteer efforts and strategic partnerships to achieve its mission of ensuring safer roads across Nigeria. By engaging with Special Marshals and other stakeholders, the Corps aims to strengthen collective efforts toward reducing road accidents and promoting a culture of safety on Nigerian roads.
