The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has achieved a major safety milestone, recording zero Road traffic crashes involving articulated vehicles along the Kugbo outbound corridor since the launch of “Operation Safe Kugbo” on 18 March 2026.

Through sustained and coordinated enforcement, the Corps has restricted 858 articulated vehicles and trucks from operating on the corridor during peak hours.

This success is driven by the strategic leadership of the Corps Marshal, with the operation firmly anchored on the provisions of the National Road Traffic Regulations (NRTR), particularly Section 223, and the FCT Traffic Regulations. The initiative aligns with FRSC’s 2026 Corporate Strategic Goal 1, which targets a drastic reduction in road traffic crashes and improved road safety nationwide.

At the tactical level, the Unit Commander, RS7.13 Nyanya, CRC WF Luka, leads a dedicated team enforcing compliance through targeted patrols, strategic positioning, and real-time traffic management during peak periods.

The operation remains ongoing, with intensified monitoring and enforcement to sustain these gains. The zero-crash record validates the effectiveness of restricting heavy-duty vehicles during high-traffic periods.

The FRSC urges motorists, fleet operators, and truck drivers to maintain full compliance with the restriction order. The Corps remains resolute in its commitment to protecting lives and ensuring safer roads across the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.
