Lagos Government host Africa to launch Association of Urban Mobility Authorities

The Honourable Commissioner for Transportation Lagos, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi exchanging pleasantries with Dr. Thierno Birahim, Director General of the Executive Council of Urban Transport of Dakar during the Second General Assembly and Workshop of the African Association of Urban Mobility Authorities (AUMA) yesterday November 6, 2023, in Victoria Island.

It was at the AUMA, a newly established organization, aims to foster innovation, collaboration, and policy advancement in urban mobility across Africa.

The association brought together Mobility Authorities from various African countries to exchange knowledge and experiences related to urban transportation planning, coordination, regulation, management, and financing.

The Second General Assembly and Workshop of AUMA, co-organised by Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), in collaboration with Africa Transport Policy Programme (SSATP), convenes authorities from Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Tanzania, Mozambique, Morocco, Ethiopia, and Cameroon.

This event facilitated discussions on urban transport systems in Africa
