In response to growing traffic and rising crashes, the Lagos State Government is set to intensify Capacity Building for Driving School instructors as part of efforts to enhance road safety.

Speaking at the 2026 Train-the-Trainer Workshop for Driving School Operators, the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said continuous education is key to producing safer drivers.

He emphasized that instructors must be certified, re-licensed periodically, and trained in defensive driving, hazard perception and new vehicle technologies.

The workshop, themed _“Enhancing Road Safety through Continuous Training and Education of Driving School Operators in Lagos State,”brought together operators to align with new standards set by the state Government.

Osiyemi noted that with more vehicles on Lagos roads daily, only well-trained instructors can instill the right knowledge, skills and attitude in new drivers.
