Meet Deputy Corps Marshal Pauline P. Olaye: A Trailblazer in Road Safety


Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) Pauline P. Olaye is a distinguished and seasoned officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), renowned for her exceptional leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to national service. Born in Warri, Delta State, DCM Olaye hails from Sagbama, Bayelsa State, and has risen through the ranks to become one of the most respected figures in the FRSC.


DCM Olaye’s educational journey began at Opukabo Primary School, Patani, Delta State, where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate in 1978. She proceeded to Iyoba College, Benin City, Edo State, earning her West African Senior School Certificate in 1985. She completed her “A” Levels at the Rivers State School of Basic Studies, Port Harcourt, in 1986, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from the University of Calabar in 1992.

In pursuit of academic and professional advancement, DCM Olaye earned a Diploma in Road Traffic and Safety Management from Lund University, Sweden, in 2010.
DCM Olaye’s career with the FRSC began on January 20, 1994, following her NYSC service year at the FRSC Headquarters, Abuja, in 1992. Over the decades, she has held several key command and administrative positions, including:

  • Staff Officer, AHR Department, FRSC HQ (1994–1997)
  • Unit Head, Admin & Finance, RS 5.2 Warri (1997–1998)
  • Admin Officer, RS 6.1 Port Harcourt Sector Command (1998–2001)
  • Head, Library Unit, Policy Research & Statistics Department (2001–2006)
  • Head, Special Marshals and Partnership (2006–2011)
  • Sector Head, Admin & HR, RS 7.1 FCT Command (2012–2017)
  • Deputy Corps Transport Standardization Officer, FRSC HQ (2017–2018)
  • Corps Commander, Admin & HR (2018–2019)
  • Corps Commander, Pension & Insurance (2019–2023)
  • Assistant Corps Marshal, Special Duties and External Relations (2023–2024)
  • Zonal Commanding Officer, RS1HQ Kaduna (Mar–Jul 2024)
  • Corps Project Implementation Officer, FRSC HQ (Jul 2024–Mar 2025)

Achievements and Awards
DCM Olaye’s key achievements include:

  • Supervising the construction and commissioning of a roadside clinic along the Kaduna–Zaria Expressway, donated by Matrix Fertilizer.
  • Leading impactful public safety campaigns across Northern Nigeria, significantly reducing road traffic crashes.
  • Initiating the redesign of senior officers’ gorget to meet national paramilitary standards.
  • Reviving the FRSC pre-retirement workshop, preparing officers for post-service life.

DCM Pauline Olaye has received numerous awards and commendations for her service, notably the prestigious Road Safety Service Star Award in 2018.


DCM Olaye’s rise to the rank of Deputy Corps Marshal reflects her outstanding dedication, competence, and integrity in service to the nation. As the New Deputy Corps Marshal, Special Duties and External Relations (SDER) FRSC Headquarters in Abuja, she continues to inspire and lead by example, promoting road safety and excellence in the FRSC.
