The Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, NADDC, His Eminence Chief Emma Eneukwu, OFR, and the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, yesterday toured the GAC Motor Nigeria Assembly Plant operated by CIG Motors.

The NADDC delegation, which included members of the Board, were conducted around the advanced assembly line of the GAC GS8, the brand’s flagship SUV which continues to gain traction among corporates, executives and private owners across Nigeria.

The visit offered the Council first-hand insight into the scale and sophistication of GAC’s local assembly operations in Nigeria.Speaking during the tour, the Director-General, Otunba Osanipin, commended CIG Motors for the capacity it has built in Nigeria, noting that the delegation was impressed with what has been achieved at the plant.“The tour provided an opportunity to see first-hand the scale of the company’s local assembly operations and we are quite impressed with what has been achieved,” the DG said.

The GAC GS8, assembled in Lagos, has set new sales records in its segment, reinforcing CIG Motors’ positioning as a major player in Nigeria’s automotive industry.

With the theme ‘Made in Nigeria. Made for More.’, the company says it remains committed to deepening local content, job creation and technology transfer in line with the Federal Government’s automotive policy.

The visit by the NADDC leadership is seen as a major endorsement of CIG Motors’ investment in local assembly and its contribution to Nigeria’s industrial development agenda.
