The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has inaugurated the Governing Board of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) to accelerate reforms in the Automotive Sector.

The ceremony, held on July 23, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, was presided over by Senator John Owan Enoh, Honorable Minister of State for Industry.

In his address, Senator Enoh highlighted the significance of the new board composition, which represents a holistic approach to Nigeria’s automotive ecosystem. He emphasized the board’s critical role in implementing the Nigeria First Policy, recently announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Minister commended NADDC Director-General, Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, for his visionary leadership and drive to reposition NADDC as a catalyst for sustainable mobility, innovation, and industrial growth.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ambassador Nura Rimi, praised the Director-General’s leadership and noted that the caliber of people appointed to the board aligns with the President’s mandate to make Nigeria a hub for automotive manufacturing and innovation.
