UN, FRSC, Didier Drogba, and JCDecaux Join Forces for Road Safety in Nigeria

In a high-level press conference at the Black Diamond Hotel in Victoria Island, key stakeholders gathered to address the growing concern of road crashes in Nigeria.

The event, moderated by FRSC’s ACM Olusegun Ogungbemide, featured notable panelists including FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt, football legend Didier Drogba, and JCDecaux’s Abimbola Gaga.

The panel discussed the “silent pandemic” of road crashes and launched the #MakeSafetyStatement Campaign in Nigeria.

The Corps Marshal highlighted FRSC’s efforts in line with the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety, while Jean Todt emphasized the importance of collective action, saying, “Road safety is everyone’s business every day.” The Campaign aims to be launched in 80 countries and nearly 1,000 cities worldwide by late 2026.”
