Volvo Construction Equipment has raised the bar for worksite safety once again. The Volvo A50 articulated hauler has just won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for Product Design, recognized for its groundbreaking, safety-first engineering that puts the operator’s awareness first.

The Award judges singled out the A50’s unmatched visibility. From the ground up, Volvo CE redesigned the cab, glazing, and mirror system to eliminate blind spots.

The result is the operators can see more of their surroundings with less head movement and less strain. That means faster decision-making and fewer accidents on busy, high-risk sites.“Safety isn’t an add-on for us. It’s the starting point of every design,” “The A50 proves that when you design with the operator in mind, you don’t just build a machine.

You build confidence.”Key safety features that impressed the Red Dot jury include:1. Panoramic cab glazing for a near 360° field of view2. Ergonomic operator station that keeps critical controls and screens in the driver’s natural line of sight.

Advanced lighting + mirror placement to reduce shadow Zones with the A50, Volvo CE is showing the industry that productivity and protection can go hand in hand.
