Weststar Associates Launches Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz Atego 1726 Truck for Nigerian Businesses

Weststar Associates Limited, the Authorised General Distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Nigeria, has officially introduced the New Mercedes-Benz Atego 1726 into the Nigerian market, expanding its commercial vehicle portfolio with a truck designed for tougher operations and better business returns.

The launch of the Atego 1726 replaces the widely used Atego 1725 and comes as Nigerian transport and logistics companies face rising pressure to cut costs, improve uptime, and move more goods across challenging terrains.

Engineered for Uptime, Payload and Profit The new Atego 1726 is built around the proven OM 926, 7.2-litre six-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 256 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque.

This gives operators the power needed for heavy cargo while maintaining fuel efficiency across long hauls and city distribution.For safety and control, the truck can be equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s High-Performance Engine Brake a 3-stage system that provides up to *300 kW of braking power.

The Atego 1726 sits on a highly adaptable chassis-cab platform, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Weststar says the truck is ideal for distribution & FMCG logistics, beverage transport, refrigerated haulage, waste management, construction, oil & gas logistics, haulage, crane operations, and tipper services.
