The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, on Saturday marked the 5th anniversary of his coronation, with tributes pouring in from across Delta State and beyond.

The monarch ascended the throne on August 21, 2021, and his reign has been widely praised for its emphasis on cultural revival, peacebuilding, and community development in Warri Kingdom.

Speaking during the anniversary, palace sources highlighted the Olu’s deep love for Itsekiri culture and tradition, as well as his hands-on approach to leadership.

The Olu is known for his passion for automobiles and for occasionally inspecting roads and communities around Warri on a scooter, a gesture that has endeared him to residents who see it as a symbol of humility and closeness to the people.
