FRSC Joins Global Community to Commemorate WARSO Day 2025


The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Nigeria has joined the global community in commemorating the 2025 West Africa Road Safety Organization (WARSO) Day, held today, May 8, 2025. This year’s celebration carries the theme “Innovating for Road Safety: Leveraging Technology for a Safer Future,” highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting road safety and reducing accidents across West Africa.

Representing the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, was Deputy Corps Marshal, Policy, Research, and Statistics Department, DCM Clement O. Oladele, fdc. The event also drew notable attendees, including Professor Sydney Ibeanusi, Focal Person, United Nations Road Safety and Injury Prevention, and the Minister of Transportation, represented by the Ag. Permanent Secretary, as well as various transport unions’ leadership.

The FRSC reaffirms its commitment to working with WARSO and other stakeholders to create a safer road environment for all road users. By leveraging technology and collaborative efforts, the FRSC aims to reduce road crashes and promote a culture of safety on Nigerian roads.

This commemoration serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for continued efforts to prevent accidents and save lives. The FRSC’s participation in WARSO Day 2025 underscores its dedication to promoting road safety and reducing the incidence of road crashes in Nigeria.
