NAJA Appoints Adebanjo as Acting Chairman

PRESS RELEASE

  • Suspends Ochonma for abuse of office
Tajudeen Adebanjo- New Ag. Chairman, NAJA

The Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), the umbrella body of journalists covering the automotive sector, has appointed its Vice Chairman, Tajudeen Adebanjo as  Acting Chairman following the suspension, last Friday, of the chairman, Mike Ochonma.
Ochonma was suspended  through a  majority decision at an emergency meeting for undue arrogance,  grandstanding and abuse of office as he could not offer satisfactory explanation on his involvement in a parallel association against the interest of NAJA.

NAJA has therefore set up a three-man committee  to investigate allegations against the suspended Chairman and make appropriate recommendations .

Meanwhile, the association has advised  automotive stakeholders and the general public to disregard a false report circulating about the purported suspension of the Vice Chairman as the fake report was the handiwork of those working against the interest of NAJA.

The Acting Chairman has, therefore, assured stakeholders in the sector that all hands are on deck to restore confidence in NAJA to enable it add immense value to the nation’s automotive industry.
