UN Global Road Safety Week, ROSOWA Champions Campaign

ROSOWA President Champions Road Safety Awareness

In celebration of the 8th UN Global Road Safety Week, the Road Safety Officer Wives Association (ROSOWA) organized a safety campaign at Area 1 Park in the Federal Capital Territory on May 15, 2025.

Led by ROSOWA President, Dr. Nafisah Shehu Mohammed, the campaign aimed to promote road safety awareness among motorists, aligning with the global theme “Streets for Life: Make Walking Safe, Make Cycling Safe.” the event brought together key stakeholders which includes Mrs. Edna Azura National President of the National Council for Women Society , Mrs. Eunice Odeghe President of the Female Drivers Association, Mr. Ishaya Mikasa Assistant Secretary General of NURTW, FCT Council.

The Campaign emphasized the importance of shared responsibility among road users for their safety. Dr Nafisah said that “at ROSOWA, we believe that real change starts with awareness and collective action”. By prioritizing safety in all our road activities, we can create a safer environment for everyone.

The President of ROSOWA Dr Nafisah Shehu Mohammed added that Everyone should continue to work together to promote road safety awareness and make our streets safer for all users by doing so, we can reduce accidents, save lives, and create a better future for our communities.
