Motorists plying the Kugbo–Nyanya corridor are currently experiencing heavy traffic gridlock following an unfortunate incident triggered by intense rainfall which affected sections of the newly constructed Kugbo Bus Terminal. The downpour, accompanied by strong winds, caused structural damage within the terminal area, leading to obstruction and disruption of normal traffic flow along the ever-busy Nyanya–Keffi Expressway.
The situation has resulted in slow vehicular movement and extended delays, especially for inbound traffic into the Federal Capital Territory, as affected lanes and increased roadside activities continue to compound congestion.
The Federal Road Safety Corps wishes to strongly advise all road users to:
Exercise maximum patience and caution while approaching the Kugbo–Nyanya axis:
Obey traffic officials and cooperate fully with officers on ground managing the situation
Avoid dangerous driving, wrongful overtaking, and route violations that could worsen the gridlock
Maintain safe speed and distance, especially due to wet road conditions.
FRSC personnel have been fully deployed to the axis and are actively working to restore free flow of traffic and ensure safety of all road users.
Motorists are urged to remain calm, law-abiding, and prioritise safety as efforts continue to normalize movement on the corridor.
