FRSC Set to Commence 24HRS patrol on Nigeria Highways to curb Road Crashes

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is set to commence 24-hour patrols on Nigerian highways to curb road crashes.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corp Corp Marshal, Shehu Mohammed the decision was made in response to the increasing number of Road Traffic crashes on the Nigeria roads, particularly at night.

The patrols aim to enforce traffic laws and reduce the incidence of road traffic crashes caused by negligence, fatigue, speeding, and dangerous driving. Key Highlights of the FRSC’s Plan is to have a 24-hour Patrols, FRSC will conduct round-the-clock patrols to monitor and enforce traffic laws.

He added that Special Patrol Operation will be instituted to address Road Traffic crashes nationwide. He said FRSC will work with stakeholders, including transport operators and other security agencies, to reduce accidents.

In the bid to boast security and safety, FRSC is also seeking approval for an armed squad to enhance their ability to patrol at night and protect personnel and infrastructure .

The FRSC’s efforts aim to reduce road accidents and promote safe driving practices. By increasing visibility and enforcement, the corps hopes to minimize road traffic Crashes and to save lives.
